Royal Doulton Character jug - Pied Piper D6403

This is a great Character Jug that was issued between 1954 and 1981.

He appears in the German Legend as the stranger who came to Hamelin and rid the village of rats but when the Mayor refused to pay him he played his pipe again and this time the children of the village followed him into a cave and were never seen again.
